Lost a Pet?
Losing your pet can be a very stressful time. Try looking in your home, back yard and in your local neighbourhood first. Let your neighbours know that your pet is missing, show them a photo and ask them if they can keep an eye out for your pet.
If you still havent found your pet the first thing we recommend you do is contact the Rockingham Pound on (08) 9528 0333. We also suggest that you check out there website (http://www.rockingham.wa.gov.au) to see if your see if your pet has already been listed on there website.
Once you have contacted the local rangers we suggest you advertise your pet as lost on the 'Rockingham and Surrounds Lost and Found Pets' and 'Pets of Perth- Lost and Found' Facebook pages. They will need a photo as well as basic information about your pet such as name, breed, age and distinguishing features.
Once you have done this we suggest you call around to the local Vet Hospitals to let them know that your pet is missing. Most Vets will have their own data base where they note all pets that are lost and found. If your pet comes into the clinic the vet clinic will be able to contact you immidately without having to contact the microchip company.
Make sure your pets Microchip's details are up to date. If you are unsure, type your pets microchip number into www.petaddress.com.au to see what company your pet is registrered with. Once you know what company your pet is registered with you can contact them and update your details.
It is also a good idea to make up a flyer and put them on local bulletin boards and also to advertise your pet on Gumtree.
